Watch Hackers Take Over Giant Cranes at a Construction Site

As the internet of things continues to grow job site and infrastructure connectivity, it raises an interesting problem: hacking of physical objects. Things like cement mixers and cranes weren’t always connected to the internet, but now that they are, manufacturers have to be more concerned with ever than someone trying to control the machines maliciously.

A team of hackers asked site managers if they could try to hack their equipment onsite… and they were surprisingly successful at doing so. It poses a problem you’ve probably never considered and one that surely needs to be addressed in the growing connected age.
