The Engineering and Function of this Bipedal Robot will Blow Your Mind

While the entire realm of robotics in 2018 is nothing short of awe-inspiring, certain robots succeed at capturing our attention better than other. There are of course those that look and appear very much to be human, leaving us uneasy as we deal with the uncanny valley effect. Other robots capture our attention not by how they look, but rather how they function.

Particularly, bipedal robots are growing more and more impressive as their function mimics human functionality even closer. Researchers at Oregon State University have created a robot named Cassie. The robot can stand, walk, run, and steer all like your average set of legs can… except Cassie has no other features. Take a look at Cassie’s impressive functionality in the video below.
