Miniature Two Cylinder Solenoid Engine is an Engineer’s Ultimate Desk Toy

Solenoid engines are powered by electrical switches that move the pistons back and forth, as opposed to combustion. These engines aren’t very common, as they are essentially Frankenstein engines of electricity combined with internal combustion engines, but they do represent an interesting and mesmerizing machine. The miniature engine presented in the video below would be fairly simple to make with the right parts, and it may just be the engineer’s perfect desk toy. Check it out.
