Meet the US Navy’s Powerful Hovercraft: The LCAC

The US Navy’s Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) is one powerful machine. Usually carried in large bays onboard amphibious ships, these massive vehicles are used by the Navy and Marine Corps to land large vehicles and massive numbers of troops on beaches with ease.

The large vehicle consumes a monstrous amount of fuel and can carry up to 300 people and an array of vehicles. Everything is supported on one incredibly large air cushion that is supported by an array of massive fans. You can check out some footage of the LCAC in action below, but you may want to turn down your volume if you’re using headphones.
