Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky have become the top names in the future of the engineering of flight. As the main suppliers for the US Military and much of the civilian market, they have established elite teams of engineers and test pilots to create the next best line of helicopters. The X2 design is just that.
This coaxial rotor helicopter was designed fairly small and functioned as a proof of concept for many of the team’s designs. While the X2 in it’s current form won’t be used for anything other than testing, the core engineering behind it will be used to create a larger craft to replace the Apache and Blackhawk helicopters currently in use by the US military.
