Just How Hot is a 5W Laser?

Laser pointers are fairly common devices, but they don’t quite have the power to cause much damage or really hurt anyone. 5mW is about the strength of a normal laser pointer, but hobbyist and scientific lasers can be much more powerful. StyroPyro, a popular laser YouTuber, wanted to see if he could calculate the equivalent heat output by a 5W laser. In a video that involves a lot of math, physics, and quite a few lasers, he does a pretty good job answering the question below.
