A Circle Apparently Isn’t the Best Shape for a Perfect Loop

We have all likely ridden on a roller coaster with a loop or two. If you take a close look tho their geometry, you may find that the loops are more teardrop shaped than perfect circles. This has a lot to do with making sure that consistent force is applied to the rider throughout the whole of the loop. The short video below will explain the physics even better.
