A Beautiful Look at a DIY Go-Cart Jet Engine

In case you didn’t know, there’s an entire category of go-carts that use DIY jet engines as thrust rather than a good old-fashioned motor. Mechanics and people who otherwise love tinkering create their very own jet engines and strap them to tiny go-carts.

If you’re thinking that these jet engines “can’t be that powerful…” then just take a look at the video below. The jet itself is made out of 310 stainless steel, but by the end of the short afterburner test, it’s glowing red hot. It’s a beautiful example of some DIY engineering.
